We are working with a supportive school in Southall who are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and make a genuine difference to pupils with additional needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with children and wants to help them develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide classroom, 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of additional needs. You will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to ensure pupils feel safe, included and able to access their learning.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
  • Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs
  • Helping pupils access the curriculum through differentiated activities
  • Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and communication skills
  • Working alongside teachers to deliver engaging learning activities
  • Following individual support plans and school behaviour strategies
  • Helping to create a calm, safe and inclusive classroom environment
  • Building strong and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Communicating effectively with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals

  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Willing to learn and develop their SEN knowledge

Previous SEN experience is highly desirable, but we will also consider candidates with strong transferable experience who are passionate about working in education.
