Looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference? Ortus Recruitment is working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Dollis Hill that is seeking a confident and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join its team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, building positive relationships and helping pupils overcome behavioural and emotional challenges.

The Opportunity

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will support primary-aged pupils to develop positive behaviours, manage their emotions and engage with learning. You will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to create a structured, supportive environment where children can thrive.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Helping children manage challenging behaviour and regulate their emotions.
• Supporting pupils with SEMH and additional needs.
• Building trust while maintaining clear, consistent boundaries.
• Using positive reinforcement to encourage good behaviour.
• Developing pupils’ confidence, resilience and social skills.
• Working with teachers and the wider school team to promote positive outcomes.

Who Would Suit This Role?

We are looking for someone who is resilient, patient and confident when working with children.

Previous experience in a school is beneficial, but experience in other relevant settings may also be suitable.

Relevant backgrounds include:

• Behaviour mentoring or youth work.
• Sports coaching or leading structured activities.
• Teaching assistance or SEN support.
• Pastoral care or childcare.
• Supporting children with behavioural or emotional needs.

You should be comfortable taking initiative, staying calm under pressure and setting appropriate boundaries.

What’s on Offer?

• Pay: £95–£105 per day PAYE.
• Location: Dollis Hill, North West London.
• Hours: 8:00am–3:30pm or 8:30am–4:00pm.
• Working days: Monday to Friday.
• Contract: Full-time, long-term.
• Start: ASAP.
