Location: Merton, Southwest London
Salary: £93–£105 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm
Start Date: ASAP (must be available for trials as soon as possible)
Ortus Recruitment is currently hiring for a fantastic opportunity at a welcoming primary school in Merton. We are looking for a passionate and reliable Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant / Behaviour Support Mentor to join the school’s supportive team.
The Role
You will be working closely with teachers and pupils across the school, providing additional support both in the classroom and on a 1:1 or small-group basis. The role would suit someone who is passionate about helping children develop academically, socially and emotionally.
The role may involve personal care. Please note if you are OPEN to SEN this is a great fit for you to advance in your career.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils with their learning and development
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
- Assisting the class teacher with classroom activities
- Supporting pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs
- Encouraging positive behaviour and building pupils’ confidence
- Helping create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
- Supporting pupils during lessons, break times and other school activities
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
